Hi, I'm Master Anita Drury, Chief Instructor of the Leeds North AEGIS Academy
I want children, adults & families to benefit from Martial Arts the same way I have
I first came to AEGIS Martial Arts as a spectator parent after enrolling my son. I enjoyed the whole ethos of the Academy and the Instructors there. After watching the classes for some time, I became intrigued in just how much the AEGIS System helped people grow in confidence as well as skill and fitness, and having always been quite shy myself I thought perhaps it could help me too.
My son loved the classes and had decided that he wanted to become an instructor eventually. When I eventually I did join and stepped onto the mat with my son for the first time, I actually joined straight into the full CIT Program from day one, as I had decided that the best way to support my son was to train as an instructor with him!
AEGIS has changed my life quite literally, with support and encouragement from the Instructors I grew in confidence, qualified as an instructor and changed career to run the Leeds North academy with my son.
I am very proud of what we have and continue to achieve here at Leeds North AEGIS, and the thing I love most is watching those shy students step onto the mat for the first time, nervous as I had been, and helping them along the way, watching them grow in confidence, becoming the best version of themselves, and then eventually presenting them with their Black Belt!

The AEGIS Martial Arts Curriculum
The AEGIS Martial Arts System was founded in 1982 and has been developed over the last 40 years. With a focus on self defence, the physical martial arts is a collection of boxing, karate, kickboxing and jujitsu.
Our curriculum has a key focus on building life skills so we can help our students achieve more not just in martial arts but in all areas of their lives.
Your Instructors will be there to help, support and guide you along each step of your journey from a White Belt to a Black Belt.
